Sora AI app: verify the official route before login or download

Search results can mix an old OpenAI Sora app listing, unofficial APK files, and the TrySora browser workspace. Treat each as a different product and verify ownership before entering credentials or installing software.

Status reviewed August 27, 2026: OpenAI introduced a Sora iOS app with Sora 2 in September 2025, but its current release page says the Sora product is no longer available as of April 26, 2026. TrySora is a separate web app and does not offer an official OpenAI APK.

Official OpenAI history is not a current download promise

OpenAI announced Sora 2 and a social iOS app on September 30, 2025. The same official page now places a product discontinuation notice above the launch details. The older paragraphs explain what launched then; they do not prove that an app-store listing, login route, invite, or region remains available now.

Use the current OpenAI page and the store publisher identity to verify any future official route. Avoid third-party APK mirrors that ask for OpenAI credentials or claim to unlock a discontinued product.

How TrySora login works

TrySora runs in a browser at trysora.org. Its sign-in, account credits, billing history, generated tasks, and API-key settings belong to TrySora. They are not an OpenAI account, ChatGPT login, official Sora entitlement, or OpenAI API key.

The safest route is a crawlable link from the TrySora site header to its own sign-in page. Confirm the trysora.org host before entering credentials, then check the model selector after login.

  • TrySora: browser workspace, TrySora account, configured provider models.
  • OpenAI: official product history and current notices on OpenAI domains.
  • App stores: verify the publisher and current listing independently.

Download and security checklist

Do not install a file simply because its name contains Sora AI. Confirm the publisher, domain, requested permissions, privacy policy, update channel, and whether an official source links to it. TrySora currently provides a web workflow; it makes no claim that a random desktop installer or Android APK belongs to this service.

Frequently asked questions

Is TrySora the official OpenAI Sora app?

No. TrySora is an independent third-party browser workspace and is not affiliated with or endorsed by OpenAI.

Does TrySora provide an Android APK?

No official TrySora APK is offered by this guide. Use the browser site and do not trust unrelated APK mirrors that use the Sora name.

Can I log in with an OpenAI or ChatGPT account?

Do not assume so. TrySora authentication is separate unless its sign-in screen explicitly offers and identifies a supported provider.

Where should I verify an official Sora download?

Start from a current OpenAI-owned page, then verify the app-store publisher and region. The historical launch text alone is not evidence that a download remains available.

Does a Sora AI logo prove that an app is official?

No. A copied name or logo is not proof of ownership. Verify the domain, store publisher, privacy policy, and a current link from an OpenAI-owned page before entering credentials or installing software.
